Staffing and Classes for September 2008

September will see some staffing changes along with some changes in the arrangement of classes and classrooms.

 

Miss Purvis will be joining the Foundation Stage team in September, along with Mr Wood who will be teaching in Year 1.  We would also like to welcome Mrs Johnson, who will be joining the Y5 team in September.

 

Class Organisation

Due to financial constraints from September, the number of classes will drop by one to eighteen.

 

The Governing Body and all staff are committed to providing an environment in which all children can reach their potential, with this in mind very careful consideration has been given to the best way to organise classes and to utilise Teaching Assistants.  Following consultation with staff and governors it was decided that single age classes with an allocation of Teaching Assistant time was the best way of ensuring children make good progress. In addition, Mrs Finbow and Mrs Turton will be working across school with children who have Special Educational Needs. Progress of pupils in the larger classes will be monitored very carefully to ensure that they are making good progress and to enable interventions to take place if needed.
