5E Mr S Ellin
My name is Scott Ellin and I am Y56 teacher and Assistant Head at Greenhill Primary School. I graduated in 2004 from Sheffield Hallam University with a degree in English and History. I then went on to do a PGCE and started teaching in 2005. I previously worked at Malin Bridge for 4 ½ years before moving to Greenhill where I have currently been for the past 7 ½ years. I have 2 children, Jack and Isabel and spend most of my spare time out and about with my children and my wife Cathy, who I have been married to for 9 years. I like most sports and enjoy being active so Greenhill has been a fantastic school for me since I came here. I like to teach maths and English and love it when children become more independent and start to decide for themselves where they need to take their learning next. In my spare time I support Sheffield Wednesday and like to spend time with family and friends.
5RL Mrs N Robson/Mrs R Longbottom
Hello, my name is Nicola Robson and I am a teacher in Y56. I graduated in 2004 from Warwick University with a degree in English and Education. I have been an upper key stage two teacher for a decade now and still thoroughly enjoy it! I particularly enjoy teaching maths and love it when children enjoy their lessons and I can see their confidence improving each day. When I was younger I was fortunate enough to travel to many places around the world and I enjoy being able to share these experiences with the children and expose them to the world beyond. The grounds at Greenhill are so wonderful and I like to take the children out as much as I can. At home, I mostly enjoy reading, cooking and walking my dogs in the park – as well going on holiday. The sun makes me happy!
Hello, my name is Mrs Longbottom. I have been fortunate enough to teach Y56 at Greenhill for the last 3 years. I have previously worked for a charites, and an engineering company before training to be a teacher at Nottingham University. I love teaching because it means I get to meet so many different and interesting people, and do lots of learning too! I have previously worked at schools in Doncaster and Dronfield.
My favourite subjects are Science and English. I really enjoy the variety of topics in science, from how our body works to looking into outer space! English has always been a favourite subject because I love to read and like how writing helps us share our experiences. I like to write about places I’ve been because I really enjoy travelling and learning about different cultures.
5H Miss Hurley
Hello my name is Charlotte Hurley and I am a Year 5 teacher, new to Greenhill school. I have a degree in Psychology, and I have enjoyed teaching Year 5 classes in Chesterfield and other schools in Sheffield. I love teaching because I find it incredibly rewarding and satisfying, also every day is different and exciting! I like inspiring children and teaching them new and interesting things.
My favourite subjects are art, PE and maths. When I was younger, my grandparents inspired me through art, and now it is a main hobby of mine alongside writing poetry. I also enjoy keeping fit and healthy by doing regular sport! I have always enjoyed exercising my brain with maths puzzles and carrying out mathematical investigations. Animals and the sun make me happy; I have four cats, two dogs and a peacock.. but I don't take them all on holiday with me!
