PUPIL PREMIUM GRANT
The Pupil Premium Grant, which is additional to main school funding, is seen by the government as the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their peers, by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most. The Pupil Premium is allocated to schools and is clearly identifiable. Academies and schools can decide how the Pupil Premium is spent, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within their responsibility.
Greenhill School is committed to ‘Closing the Gap’ for all pupils and the pupil premium allows us to fund activities and resources as a vital part of that process for those identified pupils. The governors reserve the right to allocate the pupil premium funding to support any pupils or groups of pupils the school has legitimately identified as being socially disadvantaged.
Provision will be made through:
- Facilitating pupils’ access to education
- Facilitating pupils’ access to the curriculum
- Alternative support and intervention within the school
