Computing at Greenhill
A ‘Greenhill Master of Technology’ will be a safe, aspirational, innovative and confident user of technology. Computing and technology is an integral part of our everyday life and will play an immeasurable part in our children’s futures. Therefore, it is essential that all children at Greenhill gain the confidence and ability that they need in this subject, to prepare them for the challenge of a rapidly developing and changing technological world.
Children at Greenhill will have many opportunities to use technology and will use an array of different technologies. Their skills, knowledge, capability and understanding of these technologies will be developed through taught computing lessons whilst opportunities to apply and consolidate their learning will be provided across all curriculum contexts. This will enhance, enrich and extend children’s learning in all areas of the curriculum providing them with concrete experiences of when and how they can technology in different aspects of their lives. They will have a good understanding of the implications of technology in their lives today and in the future.
Children at Greenhill will access a broad online safety curriculum taught both through computing lessons and PSHE/RSE lessons. They will develop a broad and deep understanding of the way the internet works. By understanding the forces at play in the online world, children at Greenhill should be much safer, and be able to thrive in the digital age.
