History at Greenhill
A historian leaving Greenhill will be able to confidently communicate their ideas, knowledge and opinions based on personal, local, British and world history. Using increasingly progressive vocabulary they will have an appreciation for the need to refer to a range of sources to find out about historical people, places and events. They will know what sources can tell us, evaluating their effectiveness and recognising the context in which they were created, including the effect on the validity of what it can tell us.
Children at Greenhill will develop a sense of chronology and will understand that history involved reflecting on and discussing continuity and change, and how it is has (and does) impact on their own lives, Britain and the wider world.
They will be able to relate, compare and contrast significant people, events and periods of time in order to build an in depth understanding of world history.
